Ultramarines.
Here is a quick rundown of my paint process for Ultramarines.
This has been a good process allowing me to paint over 30 mini’s in a short-ish amunt of time
- undercoat black (airbrush)
- basecoat Mcragge blue (airbrush)
- ambient light pass Calgar blue (light coat from above) (airbrush)
- 50/50 nuln oil /water wash
- black armpits/knees/crotch/gun/backpack body
- mcragge/calgar/fenrisian blue backpack top
- nuln oil eyes/edge of shoulder pad gold/chest eagle/knees
- dry calgar blue
- dry calgar blue/fenrisian gray
- dry fenrisian gray
- dry fenrisian gray/white
- dry metal gun/backpack vents
- gold chest eagle/shoulder pads/ center of backpack
- silver dry eagle/shoulder pads
base using sand from baseball diamond. add agrax earthshade to taste
weathering using Secret Weapon rust shade, brown/red rust and small spots of silver
varnish using secretWeapon satin varnish on armour, gloss varnish on gold
